The event commenced with an insightful introduction to Artificial Intelligence by Professor Piotr Sankowski, a Chief Scientific Advisor to MIM Fertility and CEO at IDEAS NCBR. Prof. Sankowski’s expertise illuminated the fundamental principles of AI, laying a solid foundation for further exploration.
Next on the agenda was Andrzej Zapała, Senior Data Scientist at MIM Fertility, who shed light on the practical applications of AI in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). His presentation showcased how AI algorithms are optimizing IVF procedures, enhancing success rates, and transforming patient outcomes.
The discussion then shifted gears as Professor Antonio Vidal, a Senior Embryologist at Instituto Vida, delved into the Economics of AI. Prof. Vidal’s insights elucidated the cost-effectiveness and long-term benefits of integrating AI technologies into fertility treatments, highlighting its potential to make advanced care more accessible to all.
The workshop culminated in a vibrant round table session moderated by MVZ Esperanza Carballo Mondragón, featuring a distinguished panel of experts including Martha Luna Rojas, MD, Rubén Tlapanco, MD, Prof. Piotr Sankowski, Prof. Antonio Vidal, and Dr. Sergio Papier. However, the highlight of the AI Academy was the hands-on workshop where delegates were immersed in an AI challenge tailored to their respective specialties. With separate tracks dedicated to embryologists and endocrinologists/physicians, participants had the opportunity to dive deep into AI-driven methodologies and explore their practical implications in real-world scenarios.
Prizes were awarded to the top-performing individuals, and certificates were presented to all fertility professionals who attended and successfully completed the AI Academy workshop.
